Reorganization Project
Challenge: Client needed to prepare for an upcoming move and would have to downsize. Did now know what was in basement and couldn’t easily access important items to prioritize in preparation for for move.
Solution: Sorted through all items in basement and heavily purged. Grouped like items with like and created zones to house categories according to importance. Repurposed shelving & re-used storage containers. Kept middle of room clear for packing boxes and items being sold and left utilitiy areas open for accessibility.
Total Project Time: 12 Hours
BEFORE
- One one side was an overstuffed shelf
- with a great work center unit buried.
- 2 closets were inaccessible.
- Too many empty boxes
- blocked back of the basement.
- Storage shelves on right were overfilled.
- Filing Cabinets were brimming with papers
- and the Utility Area needed to be cleared.
AFTER
- Storage shelf on left was purged, sorted & containerized.
- The Work Center was cleared & is ready for use.
- There is only 1 category per storage drawer &
- Some are even EMPTY!
- Storage closets were purged & containerized; now have room to grow.
- A path was cleared for easy access to the back and
- Closed boxes and clear containers house items going on move.
- Excess items were purged; those kept identified, & containerized.
- Suitcases & vacuum now stored under stairs for easy access.
